Martin Bach

Martin is a Principal Consultant at Accenture Enkitec Group and author. He specialised in the Oracle DBMS since 2001, with his main interests in high availability and disaster recovery solutions for mission critical 24x7 systems. Over the last years he spent more and more time discovering the benefits of virtualisation technologies for Oracle products, mainly by using VMWare ESX Server and Oracle VM/Xen-based virtualisation. As of December 2008 Martin is a proud member of the Oracle Certified Master community having successfully passed the exam for Database 10g Release 2. When not trying to get the best out of the Oracle database for his clients, or working on understanding its internals, Martin can be found presenting or attending Oracle user group meetings meetings, mainly in the UK. In the remaining spare time, Martin contributes to the Oracle Scene and DOAG news, the UK and German Oracle User Group publications as well as the iX magazine which is read by over 50 000 people in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Nick Collins

Nicholas Collins is the Big Data Practice Director for the Accenture Enkitec Group. He has extensive experience with Oracle Big Data Appliance and Oracle Exadata, and a strong background in data warehousing and analytics. He has worked with Oracle technology for over ten years, and possesses significant industry depth in healthcare and genomics. Andy Colvin

Andy launched his IT career in the late 1990s at an Oracle-centric company based in Dallas called Database Consultants (later renamed ThinkSpark). This provided the baseline for Andy’s technical pursuits, working with Solaris, Linux, Windows and various networking technologies. After leaving ThinkSpark in 2004 he consulted for a few years, then in 2006 rejoined Database Consultants’ Founder, Kerry Osborne, at Accenture Enkitec Group. Since then he’s become an expert consultant in the Oracle technology stack, including Oracle Exadata, Oracle Database Appliance, RAC, Oracle Application Server (OHS and WebLogic), DataGuard, and Oracle Application Server products such as Oracle Enterprise Manager. Gurmeet Goindi
Gurmeet Goindi is Master Product Manager in Oracle Database’s Systems Technology org. Gurmeet is currently responsible for Exadata Database Machine, hardware and software roadmap and also Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance’s hardware roadmap. Gurmeet is also an evangelist for innovations Oracle is bringing in application aware storage and flash arena and has presented Oracle’s vision at various industry forums – Storage Network World (SNW), Flash Memory Summit, Open Sever Summit, Data Storage Innovation Conference, Storage Developer Conference, Oracle Expert Summits, IOUG Collaborate, Oracle Open World and many other regional Oracle User Groups.
Gurmeet has been working in Silicon Valley for last 17 years in various engineering, management and product management roles. Gurmeet comes to Oracle from NetApp, where he was in the Engineering organization for 7+ years. Most recently he was the architect for NetApp’s flagship storage platform, FAS6200. Prior to NetApp, he worked for Bay Networks and Motorola Computing Group designing Internet routers, firewalls, and high performance computers.
Gurmeet has a Bachelors of Engineering in Electronics and an MBA from University of Chicago - Booth School of Business.

Heli Helskyaho holds a Master’s degree (Computer Science) in the University of Helsinki and she is specialized on databases. Heli is the CEO for Miracle Finland Oy and an Ambassador for EOUC (EMEA Oracle Users Group Community). At the moment she is working on her doctoral studies, researching and teaching at the University of Helsinki. Her research areas cover Big Data, multi-model databases, schema discovery and benchmarking. Heli has been working on IT since 1990. She has been in several positions but every role has always included databases and database designing. Heli believes that good database design and good documentation reduces performance problems and makes solving them easier. Heli is an Oracle ACE Director and a frequent speaker in many conferences. Rashmi is a Director of IT and lead architect in the Data Warehouse and Big Data environment at 84.51°. He has over 20 years of experience in the database realm including many of the major database platforms.
